I received my Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and completed clinical lab rotations for my degree in Medical Technology at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. After becoming certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), I spent most of my career working in microbiology.
